Cherry Pipes Staff Abseil Down Europa Hotel for Charity

Sandra, Denise and Arlene abseiled down the side of the Europa hotel for CLIC Sargent. CLIC Sargent is a childrens cancer charity and its "Yummy Mummy" initiative has resulted in many women doing similar brave stunts across the U.K. They raised over £1500 so a big thank you to everyone who donated to this worthy cause !

Exhibition Day for Nuffield Science Bursary

Two students came to Cherry Pipes and Cherry Polymers (one each!) through the Nuffield Science Bursary scheme  to gain work experience and to work towards the Gold Crest Award. Eunan was at Cherry Pipes working on a design project and Tamsin was at Cherry Polymers working on a plastic identification project.
It all ended with an exhibition day at Queen’s University Belfast where they were   able to display the work they had done. Both students received certificates!

£1.5 Million investment plan for Cherry Polymers

Cherry Polymers, the recycling division of Cherry Pipes Ltd is set for a £1.5 million expansion.
The investment plan is set to make the Cherry Polymers plastic bottle sorting plant one of the most modern and efficient plants in Europe.
The plant when completed will be capable of sorting over 30’000 tonnes of bottles per year.

Acquisition of the Assets’ of Irish Polymers Ltd

Cherry Pipes Ltd are pleased to officially announce the acquisition of the Assets of the former Irish Polymers Ltd, the Plastic Bottle Sorting plant based in Nutts Corner Co. Antrim is Ireland’s largest plastic bottle sorting facility, the sorting plant uses state of the art machinery to sort plastic bottles by material type and colour.

Cherry Pipes Ltd. were awarded an award for their contribution to the S.T.E.M project at an awards cremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan.

On Friday 7 September at Cookstown a raft race took place between The Polymer Processing Research Centre and Loughrey College. Two twinwall drainage pipes were used to manufacture the PPRC raft supplied by Cherry Pipes Ltd. and so was some of the paddle power ! The video shows some of the action from a very fun day !

The Northern Ireland Assembly’s Committee for Employment and Learning conducted a fact-finding visit to Queen's University Belfast.  The Committee for Employment and Learning is the first Assembly Committee to have conducted an off-site visit since the resumption of business at Stormont. 

Dr. Paul Beaney, Quality Manager at Cherry Pipes Ltd. met the MLAs at the Polymer Processing Research Center and discussed with Anna Lo (MLA) the importance of highly innovative companies and research clusters within the plastics industry.

Cherry Pipes Ltd. has been sucessfull in obtaining BS 8555 stage 3 in conjunction with the STEM project. This standard ensures that Cherry Pipes comply with all relevant environmental legislation and also have completed work on reducing the environmental impact of the business.
